BT FMC flat at 40k

BT is not going anywhere with its residential FMC service. And this, according to some, has to do with perception. People do not think of BT as leader in mobile services. Those who subscribed to the FMC service or were part of the trial have gone back to the regular mobiles.

UMA, it seems, is for mobile operator. It is not for fixed operators. BT had 100k FMC subscribers at one point. But that number is more likely to include the ones that tried the service. The recent number that is being thrown around is 40k. And that number we have heard for two consecutive quarters. It seems that BT is flat at 40k and there has been no growth for last couple of quarters.
