Cavium Networks 1Q08 Update
Q1 revenues were $18.3 million up by 13% q-o-q. Net income was $838k for the period. Enterprise and Datacenter continued to be the main contributor of sales with contribution of 68%. Remaining 32% was brought in by access service provider, and consumer broadband software services segments. Geographically Asia (mainly China, Japan and Taiwan) and Europe were significant business contributors for the company
For the quarter Cisco was the biggest customer of Cavium.
In collaboration with Packeteer, it announced a high speed network traffic processing solution. With GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, Cavium announced during the quarter, development of next generation AdvancedMC, PCI-X, PCI Express and AdvancedTCA platforms based on Cavium Networks’ for the OCTEON family products.
In Wireless segment it announced OCTEON Plus CN52XX wireless processor family which can be used in communications area for the devices like VoIP gateways and can also be used in wireless applications including 3G, 4G, WLAN, WiMAX. It also announced Multicore Device Debugging Solution together with Wind River’s Debugging and Compiler.
RadiSys, a customer, introduced Promentum ATCA-7720 Dual OCTEON PLUS packet processing module during the quarter which allows high density Gigabit Ethernet interfaces in a single slot.
