C&W teams with Silver Spring Networks for Smart Metering

  Cable&Wireless Worldwide and Silver Spring Networks announced their partnership to speed up the delivery of Smart Grid and Smart Metering in the UK. The main aim behind the partnership between two is to develop a communications fabric for smart grid and smart metering that will be secure, upgradeable and which will support multiple applications on a combined network.
 
Cable&Wireless Worldwide and Silver Spring Networks plans to provide the UK with Pv6 network infrastructure for successful deployment of the Smart Grid. “This collaboration with Silver Spring is part of our smart grid ecosystem, a long term project as we build a suite of services to help utilities map intelligence onto their networks to make the smart grid a reality”, told Liv Nixon, PR Manager.
