Webinar: Delivering Secure FMC

Date: Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Time:  4:00 AM - 5:00 AM GMT

Part of iLocus series of webinars focused on Asia Pacific service provider community. Register here.

Service providers are implementing FMC architectures that aim to deliver access to IP data and interactive communication services over wireline, wireless and blended broadband connections. Today, there are specific network elements tied to enabling services—session border controllers (SBCs) for VoIP and GPRS gateway support nodes (GGSNs) for data services. FMC is mandating evolution in network architectures and introducing new functions and network elements. One such function, tunnel termination gateways (TTGs), terminates secure connections across various untrusted wireless access or hybrid networks, including femtocells, WiFi and the public Internet, enabling the delivery of trusted, first class IP communications across these networks.

This webinar will:

- Provide market update on FMC services worldwide
- Describe the threats to VoIP services and FMC architectures
- Look at the key differences between SBCs, PDSNs/GGSNs and

  TTGs/PDIFs
- Explain where these functions belong in FMC architectures and

if and how they might be integrated
- Identify deployment scenarios and application use cases of various

  mobile core network elements
